Medford Rogues News Release

Portland, Oregon - The Board of Directors of the West Coast League announced today the appointment of Dennis Koho as League president. Koho, an attorney in private practice in Keizer, Oregon, served as Keizer's Mayor from 1993 to 1999 and is currently a member of the Keizer City Council. During his tenure as mayor he was instrumental in the construction of Volcanoes Stadium, where the short season Class A Salem-Keizer Volcanoes play, and securing the relocation of that team to Keizer.

"We are thrilled to have Dennis join our league and we look forward to the many contributions he will make in the months and years ahead," stated Eddie Poplawski, member of the West Coast League's Executive Committee.

Koho is actively involved in several community and civic organizations. He has served as the President of Salem Electric Cooperative and Chair of the Mid-Willamette Valley Council of Governments and currently holds the role President of the Salem Interfaith Hospitality Network. He is a native of Bend, Oregon where he grew up three blocks from the current home of the Bend Elks.

"My first order of business will be to meet each of the owners in person, tour their ballparks, watch their operations in action and listen to their visions for our future," Koho said. "With all of this information in hand, we will begin evaluating new steps and strategies to further enhance the West Coast League brand. Our goal is to firmly position the WCL as the premier summer collegiate league in North America."

Koho will assume his duties on July 1st. As of that date, the league's headquarters will be located in Keizer, Oregon. The new office phone number will be 503-390-2543 and the mailing address will be P.O. Box 20790, Keizer, Oregon 97307. Koho may be reached by email at dkoho@westcoastleague.com.
