Brevard County Manatees News Release

OK, Manatees fans, here's the adjusted promo schedule (thanks to rain and Hurricane Charley) for the remainder of the 2004 Florida State League baseball season:

Wednesday, August 18th, 7:05 pm against the Palm Beach Cardinals. Seniors Night. All fans 55+ receive $1 discount on ticket purchases. Dental Night: area Dentists will be in attendance; you'll have no excuse about not making a dental appointment.

Thursday, August 19th, 5:05 pm DOUBLEHEADER against the Palm Beach Cardinals. The first game is the make up of the game that was rained out on Tuesday, August 3rd at Space Coast Stadium. It's PUBLIX Thursday: present a Publix cash register receipt and receive $2 off your ticket purchase (up to four tickets per cash register receipt). It's also Merchants' Night, another chance for those businesses that took advantage of a discount ticket night earlier in the season to get another fun night out. That's both games of the doubledip for only one ticket.

Monday, August 23rd, 5:05 PM DOUBLEHEADER against the Daytona Cubs. This doubleheader is the conclusion of a suspended game back on July 3rd. The Manatees are batting in the bottom of the 2nd inning and leading 5-1 thanks to Wes Carroll's Grand Slam Home Run. This is also SCCU's last Marvelous Monday of 2004. Pick up your discount ticket vouchers at area SCCU locations. NOTE: After game #1 one lucky fan will receive a chance to win $50,000 in the ‘Throw For The Dough' contest. Get here early to register as we will select a contestant early in the game; complete your entry form immediately upon entering the stadium if you'd like to have a chance to play.

Thursday, August 26th, 7:05 pm against the Daytona Cubs. PUBLIX Thursday: present a Publix cash register receipt and receive $2 off your ticket purchase (up to four tickets per cash register receipt). It's Veterinarians Night; look for local veterinarians to be in attendance. For those that are still nervous about voting after the 2000 elections, we'll have a practice run for you! We have created our own ballot based on what you'll see on August 31st for the August Florida Primary and November 2nd for the national elections, and we've added every important race from county level through the presidency. If you want to take a quick look at the candidates squaring off against each other on August 31st and on November 2nd, come on out and get a free ballot at the gate. We're inviting candidates back out to the ballpark for a final opportunity to meet fans. You can complete your ballot and submit it to guest services and we'll tally the votes in the 5th inning and let you know what candidates are projected winners, at least with baseball fans. We've invited a representative from the Brevard County Supervisor of Elections Office to be on hand to answer any questions you may have about voting and to register voters. No hanging chads, no butterflies, no undisputed results. Come on out and vote on August 26th!

Friday, August 27th, Post-Game Fireworks courtesy of Space Coast Early Intervention Center (SCEIC). Box and Reserved Tickets are $7 and include a second ticket to Thursday, September 2nd's game.
