New Orleans VooDoo News Release

In recognition of the outstanding fan support for their inaugural season, the New Orleans VooDoo has planned a fun-filled promotion to thank the 100,000th fan to attend a VooDoo game this season.

At the VooDoo’s contest against the Georgia Force on Saturday night at the New Orleans Arena at 7 p.m., the team is expected to surpass the 100,000 mark for season attendance. The 100,000th fan that enters “the Graveyard” on Saturday night, will receive the following gifts and recognition upon entrance:

· Automatic upgrade to two front row seats.

· A VooDoo football autographed by the team and coaching staff

· A VooDoo T-shirt and hat.

· Recognition by both the public address system and video board.

During the 2004 season, the VooDoo has seen 88,958 fans come through the turnstiles. The team has posted an average attendance figure of 14,826 fans per game, the fourth highest per game average in the Arena Football League and a figure well above the league’s average of 12,093 fans per game.

Saturday’s game is of utmost importance to the VooDoo, as a win over the Force will guarantee New Orleans a playoff spot in their inaugural season. Plenty of great tickets still remain for the final night game of the 2004 season.

The game has been designated U.S. Army Night. In honor of the military, Army repellers will come down from the arena roof for the ceremonial coin toss. VooDoo Thunder Bones will be given away to the first 7,000 fans that enter the arena.

The VooDoo and the Arena Football League will also have a strong presence on the airwaves this weekend. Saturday’s game can be seen on Cox Sports Television live. Saints quarterback Aaron Brooks will serve as the guest analyst. Lyn Rollins will handle play by play and Harry McCulla will work the sideline. The game can be heard on WSMB-1350 AM with Chris Kenyon handling play by play and Saints tight ends coach Bob Palcic serving as a color analyst.

NBC (WDSU-6 in New Orleans) will broadcast the Dallas Desperados-Chicago Rush contest on Sunday at 2 p.m. This game has key implications as both the VooDoo and the Rush have identical 9-4 records and are jockeying for superior playoff positioning.
