New Orleans VooDoo News Release
With one week remaining in the regular season, New Orleans FB/LB Dan Curran is leading AFL online fan voting for the U.S. Army Ironman of the Year award, while one of his teammates and Coach Mike Neu are leading vote-getters in their individual categories.

Curran's touchdown total is tied for the second-highest in league history. On defense, Curran has recorded 24 solo tackles, five assisted tackles, one sack and one forced fumble.

Two other VooDoo players, OL/DL B.J. Cohen and DS Monty Montgomery are among league leaders in fan online voting. Cohen is second in the voting for the Lineman of the Year award, having recorded 22 solo tackles, eight assisted tackles, four sacks, 1.5 tackles for a loss, three passes defensed, four forced fumbles and one seven-yard fumble return for a touchdown. Cohen is currently tied for eighth in the league in sacks and second in forced fumbles. Montgomery, second in the voting for both the ADT Defensive Player of the Year and the Rookie of the year, has become the defensive leader of the VooDoo in his first season, following a five-year AFL career, recording 80.5 tackles, one tackle for a loss, five interceptions, 23 passes defensed, one forced fumble and three fumble recoveries. Montgomery is currently tied for fourth in the AFL in interceptions, sixth in defensive fumble recoveries, seventh in tackles, third in solo tackles (72) and second in passes defensed.
For the second consecutive season, visitors to the League's official Web site â www.arenafootball.com â can vote for individual awards. The fan vote counts 25 percent towards the total vote for each award. Voting by players, coaches and media will also round toward the results. Voters are limited to one choice per category and ends Monday, May 31.
