The T-Birds player tryouts offer athletes an opportunity to showcase their talents in front of the New Mexico Thunderbirds' coaching staff, including head coach Darvin Ham. Players will compete to earn an invitation to the team's training camp, which will begin in early November.

"The New Mexico Thunderbirds are very grateful to our NBA affiliate, the New Orleans Hornets, for their assistance with facilitating these tryouts in New Orleans and we look forward to a great partnership between the teams this coming season," said Thunderbirds Owner Sam Bregman.

Edwards went on to participate in the 2010 summer camp with the Denver Nuggets, where he averaged 10.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per game over five games as a starter.

The Thunderbirds' first home game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on November 26th, 2010 against the Utah Flash. Fans can purchase season ticket packages, flex pack ticket vouchers and individual game tickets for all Thunderbirds games by calling (505) 265-3865 or logging onto www.nmtbirds.com.
