New Mexico Thunderbirds Announce New Members of Storm Chasers Dance

Rio Rancho, NM. Aug. 17, 2010. The New Mexico Thunderbirds completed auditions for the 2010-11 Storm Chasers dance team on Sunday, August 8, at the Duke City Stars Dance Center. Approximately 30 talented dancers were invited to audition for a panel of judges. Seventeen dancers were selected to entertain Thunderbirds fans at the Star Center and form the Storm Chasers dance troupe, which is also responsible for making numerous community appearances throughout the year on behalf of the New Mexico Thunderbirds.
"I'm thrilled about working with the new team,"Â said Storm Chasers Director and Choreographer, Leslie Chant. "We've always been known for out great entertainment, but this year we're taking it to the next level. Fans won't be disappointed."Â
The Storm Chasers are the professional dance team of the New Mexico Thunderbirds NBA Minor League Basketball Team. They will be performing at all 24 home games at the Santa Ana Star Center. The dancers also make numerous personal appearances at promotional and charitable events around the state. Members of the team will also represent the Thunderbirds at a number of special events throughout the year, including corporate parties, award banquets, and community gatherings. The Thunderbirds' first home game is at 7:30 p.m. on November 26th, 2010 against the Utah Flash, and will be held at the Santa Ana Star Center.
