
New Jersey Wins Third Straight

New Jersey Jackals News Release
The New Jersey Jackals beat the Trois Riveres Aigles Sunday afternoon by a score of 7 to 4. Reece Karalus took the win for the Jackals as they obtain their 7th win of the season.
Justin Brantley got the ball for the Jackals, while Kevin McNorton took the mound for the Aigles.
Richard Stock got the ground running for the Jackals with a 2-run single in the 1st. In the 3rd, Conrad Gregor extended the lead to 3 with an RBI double, scoring Jay Gonzalez. In the very next at bat, Alfredo Marte brought home Gregor with a bloop single to shallow right, making it 4-0. Richard Stock delivered once again with another RBI, this time a double, giving the Jackals a 5-0 lead.
In the 4th, Aigles catcher Joe DeLuca cut the lead down to 2 with a 3-run homer to right center, which were the first runs surrendered by Justin Brantley. The Aigles scratched another run in the 5th off relief pitcher Reece Karalus on a fielder's choice as they closed in on the Jackals lead making it score 5-4. In the 6th inning, the Jackals got song breathing room when Santiago Chirino drove home Emilio Guerrero for an RBI single, making it 6-4. In the 8th, Alfredo Marte kept the party going with a solo home off the left field foul pole extending their lead to 3.
Starter Justin Brantley pitched 4 1/3 innings and struck out five. Kevin McNorton threw 6 innings and struck out four.
Conrad Gregor showed a great offensive display as he went 3-4 scoring two runs and driving in one. Richard Stock also went 3 for 4 with while driving in 3.
The Jackals will face Trois-Riveres tomorrow at 2:05 in the final game of a four game home series.
