New Jersey Devils Sign Forward Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond

Newark, NJ - The New Jersey Devils today signed free agent forward Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond to a one-year, two-way contract for $575,000 at the NHL level. The announcement was made by Devils' Executive Vice President/General Manager Ray Shero.

Letourneau-Leblond, 30, spent the past two seasons with Wilkes-Barre Scranton (AHL), where he played under Devils' Head Coach John Hynes. The 6-1, 215-lb. forward recorded 2g-4a-6pts and finished third in the AHL in penalty minutes during each of his two seasons with the Penguins. His last NHL appearance came on January 15, 2014 vs. Washington, marking his only game played with Pittsburgh. In 2012-13, Letourneau-Leblond posted 3g-5a-8pts and 98 PIM in 33 games with Norfolk (AHL). He was traded by the Devils to the Flames on July 14, 2011 and split the 2011-12 campaign between Calgary (3 games) and Abbotsford (AHL, 50).

The native of Levis, Quebec was New Jersey's fourth choice (seventh round) and the 216th overall selection of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. Letourneau-Leblond totaled 0g-3a- 3pts and 91 PIM in 37 NHL games over his six seasons with the Devils' organization, including a career-high 27 contests during the 2009-10 campaign. He made his NHL debut/recorded 1a on October 22, 2008 in a 5-0 win vs. Dallas. Letourneau-Leblond also saw action for the club's minor league affiliates in Albany (AHL), Lowell (AHL) and Trenton (ECHL). In 2010-11 with Albany, he posted career-highs across the board with 8g, 5a (tie), 13pts and a league-leading 334 PIM. Letourneau-Leblond has career totals of 25g-34a-59pts and 1,561 PIM in 396 AHL games.
