New England Surge in Final Work Out Prior to Training Camp

Worcester, MA. ...Coach Rick Buffington of the New England Surge of the Continental Indoor Football League, (CIFL), has invited the football player tryout finalists to a work out session on Friday, February 16 at Hits Quarters, Shrewsbury, MA. Over 50 football players, who have been invited to return, will be going through practice drills in preparation for the commencement of the official training camp, which is scheduled for March 5, 2007. Coach Buff and his assistant coaches, including Jerry Snay who is in charge of coaching both the offensive and defensive lines, Dennis Faulkner, who oversees player personnel, and Mike Pittman in charge of running and line backs, will be putting the finalist through a rigorous work out schedule to determine who makes the final roster cut.

Coach Buff states, "This workout session is critical to finalizing the team roster. I am ready with contract in hand to pen an agreement with the most promising from this group." After tonight's workout session, the final team will start the official training camp on March 5, and will practice 5 days a week until the first game on March 24. The New England Surge is scheduled to play two games on the road, the Rochester Raiders on March 24, and Chesapeake Tide on April 1. Afterwards they will head home for more practice and to prepare for their inaugural home game at the DCU Center Worcester on April 14, against the NY/NJ Revolution.
