FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - New England Revolution II (8-5-2; 28 pts.; 3rd in East) are set to host Toronto FC II (3-8-3; 14 pts.; 13th in East) on Friday night at Gillette Stadium. The match kicks off at 8:00 p.m. ET and streams live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
New England heads into Friday's match following a 2-1 loss to FC Cincinnati 2 on Sunday. Jordan Adebayo-Smith tallied his team-leading sixth goal of the season in the 93rd minute and recorded four shots, two on target, in his 27-minute shift off the bench. Adebayo-Smith leads MLS NEXT Pro with 19 shots on target, while Revolution II holds its position as the top-scoring team with 32 tallies on the year.
"We needed to look at some changes and Jordan [Adebayo-Smith] is a guy who has logged a lot of minutes, so we felt like it was an opportunity for him to be a reserve tonight and maybe give us a lift off the bench and obviously he provided that with a goal," Head coach Clint Peay said following Sunday's match.
New England owns a 4-3-1 record in the all-time series against Toronto, as Friday's match marks the ninth meeting between the two sides since 2020. The teams last met on May 14, when New England completed a come-from-behind 3-2 victory led by Homegrown midfielder Damian Rivera. The Cranston, R.I. native, who returned to New England this week after featuring for Costa Rica's U-23 side on international duty, secured the victory with goals in the 84th and 85th minutes at York Lions Stadium.
