New Date and Time for Pacific FC's Season-Opening Meeting with Vancouver FC

Langford, BC - Pacific FC, in conjunction with the Canadian Premier League, today announce a change to the date and time of the club's first match of the 2023 regular season against Vancouver FC, giving fans on both sides of the Strait of Georgia the chance to catch the first league derby in British Columbia's history.

The match between Pacific and Vancouver, previously scheduled for Friday, April 14 at 7 p.m. PT, will now take place on Saturday, April 15 at 4 p.m. PT, the third game in an opening day triple header that will be broadcast live on dedicated soccer channel OneSoccer.

The change in schedule will ensure fans traveling from the mainland are able to get a first glimpse of the impending rivalry between the two BC-based clubs.

"This is a call to our fans that we want to pack Starlight Stadium on April 15 and show Vancouver FC what Island pride means as we defend our house," said Paul Beirne, Managing Director, Pacific FC "This will be Vancouver FC's first ever match and the beginning of a BC rivalry that stands to make history in our province."

The two clubs will meet again later in the season in Vancouver FC's new stadium in Langley, BC.

April will be an action-packed month for Pacific FC with four home matches at Starlight Stadium. Following the season-opener with Vancouver, the Tridents will take on Cavalry FC in the Canadian Champion preliminary round on April 20at 7 pm.

Pacific will meet Cavalry later that week on April 23 in regular league play and will host Hamilton's Forge FC, the 2022 Canadian Premier League Champions, on April 30.
