
New Community Show Announced

Amarillo Gorillas News Release
Amarillo, TX - The Amarillo Gorillas of the Central Hockey League (CHL) debuted their new community-based radio program today, which will air every Wednesday, all year long from 11AM until noon on 'Energy' 99.7 FM. The program, entitled 'The Gorillas Community Café' centers around informing, highlighting and increasing community involvement and awareness in non-profit and youth related issues in and around the Amarillo community. The content of the show will be driven by current activities and events that provide a helping hand to the local community, including interviews, spotlights and call-ins all centered around Amarillo and surrounding communities.
The first installment of the Gorillas Community Café featured information about all of the exciting community functions the Gorillas will be a part of this season, including 'Operation Hungry Gorilla,' Grades for Blades, Non-Profit of the Night, City of the Night and many more. Amarillo Mayor Debra McCartt was interviewed on the show, as well as Zack Wilson, Director of Marketing the High Plains Food Bank.
Gorillas GM Todd Chisnell excited about the new program, and the great effect the Gorillas can have in this community. "I'm thrilled for the Gorillas organization to be involved with such a special opportunity. The folks at the new Energy 99.7 have been fantastic to work with and we look forward to a long lasting relationship that will bring about awareness of the community issues that involve Amarillo and the High Plains."
