NEW YORK – The Drive to ArenaBowl XVII continues as the Arena Football League is expected to surpass the one-million mark in attendance for the eighth consecutive season this Sunday. Through 10 weeks, the League has drawn a total of 939,752 fans in 80 games, an average of 11,747 fans per game. This is the fastest that the AFL has ever reached the milestone (one million in 100 games in 2002). The League still has six full weeks remaining on its 2003 schedule.

This season's 11,747 average represents an 18.4 percent attendance increase vs. 2002 when the League averaged 9,922 fans through 10 weeks.

With six weeks remaining, the AFL has had 11 sellouts in 2003 compared to four during the entire 2002 season. The expansion Colorado Crush are expected to record their fifth sellout in as many games when they host the Chicago Rush at Pepsi Center in Denver this Sunday on NBC at 3 p.m. ET.

The Los Angeles Avengers are expecting their first-ever sellout this Sunday against Arizona at Staples Center at 3 p.m. ET on NBC. The Avengers, who are in their fourth year of existence, have already had their two largest-ever crowds in 2003.
