CARY, NC - North Carolina FC continue their road swing this weekend as they face off against the Richmond Kickers today, Saturday, May 22 at 6:30 p.m. ET. NCFC enter this match following an all-out defensive battle in their last-minute 0-1 loss against Forward Madison FC last Saturday. Richmond is coming off of a 2-0 home win against South Georgia Tormenta FC, and currently holds a 2-2 USL League One record this season.
Jamaican international Thorn Simpson recently signed with NCFC and is anticipated to make his debut in today's match. The 22-year-old attacker is on loan with North Carolina from the Jamaican Red Stripe Premier League's Molynes United FC.
"He has great size and athleticism and will give our opponents problems on both sides of the ball," NCFC Head Coach John Bradford said. "He's a proven goal scorer in his home country of Jamaica and has done well to score goals here in our preseason."
