North Carolina FC News Release
CARY, NC - North Carolina FC will hit the road to face off against North Texas SC for the first time this season on Saturday, August 14 at 9 p.m. ET in Arlington, TX as the young squad hopes to rally for their fifth win of the year. The match will be streamed live on ESPN+.
Last Time Out
North Carolina FC fell to the Chattanooga Red Wolves, 4-1, in a high-scoring tilt on Tuesday night. Individual goals from Mark Hernandez, Jackson Dietrich, Juan Galindrez, and Jonathan Ricketts lifted the visitors to the win, with Ricky Ruiz adding three assists on the night. NCFC Academy product Cole Frame scored the lone goal for NCFC, with Nelson Flores earning the assist.
"It's pretty straightforward: when we all compete, move the ball, and work together, that's when we are successful. Obviously we were up against a really good team in terms of production and goal scoring, but this result was disappointing," Head Coach John Bradford said. "I think with Cole we have a player that we're excited about, he's somebody that can really change the game from the moment that he comes on. He's got some other things he's got to get better with but he's certainly exciting for us right now."

Players to Watch
North Carolina FC - #26 Cole Frame
Frame has been both impressive and impactful for North Carolina FC this season, especially when entering the match as a substitute. The 18-year-old put North Carolina FC on the board in stoppage time in the squad's last match, adding his third goal of the season to cut into Chattanooga's lead. Also complimentary of Frame's difference-making ability is Head Coach John Bradford, who called the forward "someone that can really change the game from the moment he comes on." Frame will look to utilize his playmaking abilities, quick footwork, and speed on and off the ball to his advantage in this weekend's match.
North Texas SC - #88 Kazu
Named to USL League One's Team of the Week in Week 18, Kazu netted his fourth goal in five games in North Texas's recent 2-0 win over FC Tucson, becoming the team's leading scorer. The left back has logged 659 total minutes with North Texas this season, averaging 165 minutes of play per goal, an impressive feat when considering his defensive position in the lineup. Kazu will look to add to his season goal tally against North Carolina FC this Saturday, as well as help North Texas to another shutout win.
What's Next: North Carolina FC will return to Sahlen's Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park to face off against Forward Madison on Wednesday, August 25 at 7 p.m. ET.
