NCFC Falls to Chattanooga SC, 1-0, in Home Finale Saturday

CARY, NC - North Carolina FC fell in their final home match of the 2022 season, 1-0, to the Chattanooga Red Wolves SC Saturday night at WakeMed Soccer Park. Juan Galindez put the visitors in front in the 49th minute, taking a pass down the left channel from Jose Carrera and beating the keeper near-post for the only tally of the night.

A banner crowd of 4,873 fans were on hand for Noche Latina and Fan Appreciation Night for a match that went down to the wire but NCFC couldn't pull out the late equalizer. Chattanooga held a 16-14 edge in shots and had 53.7% possession. North Carolina FC was shown eight yellow cards, including two to Nelson Flores Blanco, forcing the home side to play down a man for the final quarter-hour.

Nicholas Holliday made four saves, including a highlight reel diving stop to his right in the first half to keep things level. Garrett McLaughlin had five shots, including a pair just wide and a header off the underside of the crossbar.
