NBDL QUOTE OF THE DAY: "Bang is big in Korea. He's a rising sports star, he's like the Michael Jordan of Korea. He's kind of like a national hero."...Kunyoung Shon, a reporter from the Daily Sports newspaper of Seoul, Korea, told the Roanoke Times this week about Dazzle shooting guard Sung-Yoon Bang.
WASHINGTON TO ASHEVILLE: Kermit Washington, a 10-year NBA veteran as a player, has been named to the assistant coaching position for the Asheville Altitude. Washington replaces Michael Sanders, who accepted a position with the NBA Player's Association after 3½ seasons with the Altitude.

ALUMNI CHECK: Former Asheville Altitude guard Jason Hart scored 17 points and dished out 10 assists for the Charlotte Bobcats against Chicago Thursday night.
CORNBREAD, G-MAN AND G-WIZ: Washington Wizards mascots G-Man and G-Wiz will be entertaining the crowd with their signature, acrobatic slam dunks at the Columbus Civic Center tonight when the Huntsville Flight comes to town. Country-rock favorite, Cornbread, will also perform post-game as part of the Budweiser True Music Concert Series, presented by Budweiser, The Loft and Flipside Records.
ON NBA TV: The NBDL "Game of the Week" on NBA TV airs today at 3:30 p.m. ET. The featured game is the Fayetteville vs. Asheville contest, which was played on the second day of the NBDL Martin Luther King, Jr. Showcase on January 17. An encore showing of "This Week in the NBDL" also airs today at 3 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
