GABE FOR THREE! Fort Wayne Mad Ants guard Gabe York was named the NBA G League Player of the Week for games played Monday, January 16 through Sunday, January 22.
York averaged 31.8 points in four games to lead the Mad Ants to a 3-1 record for the week. This is the third NBA G League Player of the Week nod for York this season, making him the first player since Tim Frazier (Maine Celtics, 2014-15) to accomplish that feat.
EIGHT BY THE LAKE: The Cleveland Charge (8-1) continued its impressive play by extending their winning streak to eight games. The Charge is led by former Atlanta Hawks guard Sharife Cooper (26.9 ppg, 6.4 apg). The East-leading Charge will host Cooper's former team, the College Park Skyhawks, tonight at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
SHOWDOWN IN THE WEST: The top two teams in the Western Conference will meet on Thursday, Jan. 26 at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN+ when the Memphis Hustle (8-1) visits the Stockton Kings (10-2). The Hustle is led by Memphis Grizzlies two-way player Kenneth Lofton Jr. (18.4 ppg, 9.3 rpg) and guard Dakota Mathias (17.3 ppg, 3.6 rpg). Stockton has received strong contributions from guard Trey Burke (16.1 ppg) and center Chance Comanche (13.0 ppg, 7.3 rpg).

TOP PERFORMANCES
#GLeagueAlumWatch Brooklyn Nets center Nic Claxton (left) is having a breakout season for the Brooklyn Nets. In 10 games in January, Claxton is averaging 14.8 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.6 blocks to help Brooklyn remain near the top of the Eastern Conference standings despite missing Kevin Durant due to injury. For the season, the 6-11 Claxton is leading the NBA in blocks (2.7 bpg) and field goal percentage (73.3). Claxton appeared in nine games (five starts) during the 2019-20 season for the Long Island Nets, averaging 16.7 points and 7.3 rebounds.
Delaware Blue Coats guard Mac McClung notched 40 points, eight assists and four rebounds in a 153-132 win over the Wisconsin Herd on Jan. 16.
On Jan. 19, Los Angeles Lakers two-way player Scotty Pippen Jr. registered a double-double of 28 points and 10 assists for the South Bay Lakers in a 127-117 win over the Motor City Cruise.
NBA G League Ignite center-forward Eric Mika recorded the first triple-double (16 points, 18 rebounds, 12 assists) in franchise history during a 114-107 victory over the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Jan. 21.
