RIO GRANDE VALLEY'S MCNEAL SIGNS WITH NEW ORLEANS
The New Orleans Hornets signed guard Jerel McNeal of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers for the 13th GATORADE Call-Up of the 2010-11 NBA Development League season. McNeal's call-up increases the number of current NBA players with NBA D-League experience, including players currently on assignment to their NBA D-League affiliates, to 86. In 40 games (all starts) this season with Rio Grande Valley, McNeal averaged 19.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.4 steals, leading the Vipers to a 28-12 record. An NBA D-League All-Star, McNeal ranks fifth in the league in scoring, and is averaging 23.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 6.5 assists in his last 10 games. In a decorated four-year collegiate career at Marquette, McNeal (6-3, 200) became the school's all-time leader in points (1,985), steals (287) and games played (130). As a senior in 2008-09, McNeal averaged 19.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.0 steals and was named to the AP All-America Second Team and All-Big East First Team.
TORONTO RAPTORS REASSIGN ALABI TO NBA D-LEAGUE AFFILIATE ERIE BAYHAWKS
Toronto Raptors center Solomon Alabi was reassigned to the Erie BayHawks, the Raptors' NBA D-League affiliate, it was announced today. The assignment marks the 44th time in the 2010-11 season an NBA player has been assigned to an NBA D-League affiliate, and it is the third assignment for Alabi, a rookie out of Florida State. Alabi (7-1, 251) was assigned on Nov. 15 and Jan. 6. Alabi has played in 11 games (all starts) with the BayHawks, averaging 8.9 points and 6.6 rebounds in 22.1 minutes. Alabi has appeared in 10 games this season for Toronto, averaging 4.0 minutes. An early entry candidate for the 2010 NBA Draft, Alabi was selected in the second round (50th overall) by the Dallas Mavericks, who traded his draft rights to Toronto. A native of Nigeria, Alabi played three seasons at Florida State and ranks first all-time in school history in blocks per game (2.1). In 77 games with the Seminoles, Alabi also averaged 9.1 points and 5.4 rebounds, and was an All-ACC Defensive Team selection in both of his full seasons at Florida State.

Ivan Johnson scored 27 points, and Tasmin Mitchell added 20 points and nine rebounds for Erie in a win over Springfield. Gavin Edward led Springfield with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Scottie Reynolds added 18 points and six assists for the Armor.

Houston's Patrick Patterson scored 18 points off the bench in a loss to Phoenix.

Cleveland's Ryan Hollins scored 14 points in a loss to Golden State.
