SAN ANTONIO'S HAIRSTON ASSIGNED TO NBA D-LEAGUE AFFILIATE AUSTIN TOROS
San Antonio Spurs forward Malik Hairston has been assigned to the Austin Toros. Hairston is the 13th player to be assigned from an NBA team to the NBA D-League this season. Originally selected in the second round (48th overall) of the 2008 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns, Hairston was traded to San Antonio where he averaged 5.3 points and 4.5 assists in six preseason games. He was waived by the Spurs on Oct. 26, then spent time with the Toros. Hairston started in 11 Toros games this season and averaged 19.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.3 steals. Hairston was named NBA D-League Performer of the Week for games played during the week of Dec. 15 and earned a GATORADE Call-Up to San Antonio on Dec. 22.
JOEY DORSEY ASSIGNED TO VIPERS
Houston Rockets forward Joey Dorsey was assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Rockets¡¦ NBA Development League affiliate. Dorsey is the 14th player to be assigned from an NBA team to the NBA D-League this season. Originally selected in the second round, 33rd overall, of the 2008 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers, Dorsey was traded to Houston on Draft night and appeared in three regular season games for the Rockets, scoring two points and grabbing one rebound. In four preseason games, Dorsey averaged 3.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists.
TOROS ACQUIRE BRIAN MORRISON, REACQUIRE MOHAMED ABUKAR
Mohamed Abukar was reacquired after being waived during training camp due to injury. Abukar, a 6-9, 229 pound forward from San Diego State was the second pick for the Toros during the 2008 NBA D-League draft. Abukar played 10 games in the Italian league during the 2007-08 season averaging 6.6 points and 2.4 rebounds.
Brian Morrison, a 6-2, 192 pound point guard played five games at the start of the season with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Morrison (UCLA) averaged 5.3 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 22 games with the Los Angeles D-Fenders last season.

Ææ Alpha Bangura had a season high 30 points to lead the Vipers. Alton Ford hauled in a Viper season high 19 rebounds and scored 18 points for his second double-double of the season. Houston Rockets assignee Joey Dorsey scored 11 points and brought in eight rebounds in his Viper debut.
Ææ The D-Fenders had five players in double figures and were led by guard Brandon Heath¡¦s 27 points. Dwayne Mitchell chipped in with 17 points and seven assists. CJ Giles hauled in 10 rebounds while scoring 11 points for his first double-double as a D-Fender.
Ææ Andre Brown recorded 20 points and 15 rebounds to help the Austin Toros notch their seventh straight victory with an 89-78 home win over the Tulsa 66ers.
Ææ Eddie Gill drained a 10 foot jumper with 0.2 seconds remaining to give the Colorado 14ers a 105-103 win over the Utah. In addition to hitting the game-winner, Gill posted 15 points and eight assists in the victory. Josh Davis led the 14ers with 18 points.

24 players with D-League experience competed in nine NBA games last night, five as starters.
Ææ Louis Williams finished with 16 points in 27 minutes of play for the Philadelphia 76ers.
Ææ Miami¡¦s Daequan Cook scored 12 points in the Heat¡¦s 90-77 victory over the Bulls.
Ææ Keleena Azubuike netted 10 points and five rebounds, while teammate CJ Watson added eight points for the Warriors.
