Naylor's Home Runs Lead Missions to Win

San Antonio Missions News Release

LITTLE ROCK - Josh Naylor homered twice and Lake Bachar picked up his first Double-A win as the Missions shaded the Arkansas Travelers, 7-6, in the series finale at Dickey Stephens Park.

San Antonio avoided its first series sweep in Little Rock since 2015 and concluded a 3-3 road trip.

Entering the contest, the Missions had recorded a league-low .218 batting average across the previous 20 games. They had scored seven total runs over the three previous contests.

Naylor and Nick Schulz homered to fuel a four-run first inning.

The Missions built a 5-1 lead before the Travelers cut it to a one-run game in the fourth.

Ty France busted out of a 9-for-53 slump with a season-high four hits to lead the club's 12-hit attack.

Naylor's second homer came with a man aboard in the ninth inning and proved crucial.

Joseph Odom slugged a two-run shot off Bachar in the bottom of the ninth to again make it a one-run affair.

Bachar brushed off the blast by striking out the next two hitters to end the game.

San Antonio opens a six-game homestand tonight, which features a postgame concert from the Eli Young Band and fireworks.
