Tulsa Drillers News Release

It was more of the same Saturday night for Tulsa starting pitcher Parker Frazier. Frazier turned in another solid outing, allowing only two runs in seven innings in Northwest Arkansas, but he again suffered from a lack of run support. The Drillers offense was limited to only three hits and one run and the result was a 2-1 loss to the Naturals.

In 6 starts for Frazier this season, the Drillers have scored a total of only 11 runs. The right-hander has a 2.43 ERA but is record now stands at 1-2.

Northwest Arkansas scored single runs in both the second and third innings off Frazier. In the second, three singles gave the Naturals the lead.

Wil Myers belted his eight home run of the season in the third to make it 2-0.

Tulsa's only run came in the fourth when Josh Rutledge led off with his team-leading sixth home run. The homer cut the Naturals lead to 2-1, but it would be as close as the Drillers would get.

Tulsa would be limited to only two more hits the rest of the way. Naturals starter Jake Odorizzi allowed only 2 hits and one run in 7 1/3 innings while striking out a franchise record 11 batters. The victory improved his record to 3-2.

The loss dropped the Drillers record to 20-9. They still lead the second-place Naturals by six games in the North Division standings.

Tulsa and Northwest Arkansas will play the second game of their four-game series Sunday afternoon at Arvest Park. Nick Schmidt (1-0, 3.95 ERA) will take the mound for the Drillers against Noel Arguelles (0-3, 8.55 ERA) of the Naturals. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00PM.
