Naturals Announce Arvest Ballpark Video Contest with $1,000 Prize

SPRINGDALE, Ark. (July 18, 2012) - Arvest Ballpark and the Northwest Arkansas Naturals are celebrating the fifth year of great gatherings and baseball by sponsoring a video contest highlighting the many ways that people use the park's amenities.

"While discussing the changes that Arvest Ballpark has brought to Northwest Arkansas, we discovered that so many people have considered the park as a gathering place for many uses, from a place to hold nonprofit fundraisers and events to attending a Northwest Arkansas Naturals' game," said Northwest Arkansas Naturals General Manager Eric Edelstein. "We also found that everyone has a ballpark memory or story to share. A video contest seemed like a perfect way to share those stories."

The "Arvest Ballpark Video Contest" is open to anyone who has visited the Arvest Ballpark or used its facilities. Entries must be a video of their own creation that illustrates the importance, opportunity and or enjoyment they have had while using Arvest Ballpark in the past five years. Or, if they do not want to submit a video, opportunities to record memories and stories about Arvest Ballpark experiences can be recorded at any of the several Northwest Arkansas Naturals home ballgames scheduled in July.

The contest winner will be announced on August 23. The winner of the contest will get to see the complete winning video played at a celebratory event on August 23 at Arvest Ballpark before the Northwest Arkansas Naturals take on the Springfield Cardinals. Clips from other contest entrants might be included in an overall tribute video as part of the celebration.

The overall winner will also receive $1,000 and a "Northwest Arkansas Naturals Experience," which includes use of a personal suite during an April or May 2013 home game, throwing out the first pitch at the August 23 celebration and an autographed Northwest Arkansas Naturals' baseball.

Each 90-second video contest entry will be judged for relevance to the contest theme and be posted on the Northwest Arkansas Naturals Facebook page and YouTube Channel. Viewers will be able to vote for their favorite video, with the number of "likes" counting as 50 percent of the video judging. Both the winning video and the tribute video will be displayed on the Naturals' website at www.nwanaturals.com after August 23.
