Northwest Arkansas Naturals News Release

SPRINGDALE, Ark - It¡¯s another year, another level for Aaron Brooks. The Kansas City Royals have announced a transaction affecting the Northwest Arkansas roster and the 23 year-old Right-hander. The Parent Club has transferred to the pitcher from Single A-Wilmington to Northwest Arkansas.

Brooks was drafted by Kansas City in the ninth round of the 2011 First Year Player Draft. He has pitched at four levels in his first three professional seasons compiling a 17-17 record with a 4.57 ERA in 289¨ø innings spent almost entirely as a starting pitcher.

Brooks was 2-0 with a 2.34 ERA for the Blue Rocks last month and pitched into the seventh inning or later in three of four starts to close out the calendar.

The transaction fills the roster spot opened yesterday, when the Royal promoted RHP Yordano Ventura to Triple-A Omaha.

The 6¡¯4¡± 220-pound right-handed pitcher will wear uniform number 29 tonight as the Naturals open a four-game series in Tulsa, sending another Brooks-RHP Brooks Pounders to the mound. He¡¯ll be opposed by RHP Roy Oswalt, making a Major League Rehab start for the Drillers.

The Naturals roster currently sits at the Texas League limit of 25 players.
