
National Champions Part of Elmira's Early Success

The Pioneers have two champions on their roster Aaron Hopper and Mike Mahaffey both from Marietta College. Hopper and Mahaffey are coming off a Division Three NCAA National Championship and look to continue their success this season.
Both Hopper and Mahaffey where interviewed on their experiences so far this season. When asked how is the season going so far, and how is the team as a whole was doing? Hopper responded by saying, " We have some great talent on this team. Although we have had a couple of rough games we gave been able to make some great plays to show the fans the talent we bring."
Mahaffey responded to the same questions saying, " I think we are doing alright. We have a great group of guys; it is tough when you come from different programs. We have the talent to be a great team and if we keep improving we will be just that."
When asked during the interview what Hopper liked most about playing at Dunn field he said, " The atmosphere is great, it has a profession feel that you cannot get when traveling to other teams we play." Mahaffey added, " Fans are great at home with the support they give to the players it creates an atmosphere you want to play in. When traveling I do not see the same atmosphere."
