
Elmira Falls Twice in Doubleheader

The Pioneers offense struggled until the fourth inning against the Newark Pilots as Logan Uxa (Arkansas State) drove in Elmira's first run of the ballgame with a single up the middle. The Pioneers would use the fifth inning to tie up the game 4-4 after a two run home-run by David Bishop (Mississippi State) and an RBI single from Aaron Hopper (Marietta).
The Pilots scored three separate times including a two run home-run in the first inning when Shayne Herold (Ashland) connected for his first of the year. Michael Bolling (Lewis) would reach base in the sixth inning and two runners would score on an Elmira error as the Pilots would take the lead for good and hold on for the victory.
Mark Scott(San Joaquin Delta) picked up his second save of the year pitching two innings and Alec Clifton(Lindwood) picked up his first win of the season in relief.
