National Anthem Tryouts Set For March 20th

The Hagerstown Suns will be holding their annual national anthem tryouts on Saturday, March 20th at Municipal Stadium at 2:00 p.m.
The top five, chosen by judges at the stadium, will have a chance to compete in a contest hosted by WHAG. The contestants may get a chance to sing the anthem live on WHAG's morning show. The winner will be chosen by an online poll.
The winner will sing the national anthem on July 4th when the Suns play the West Virginia Power, and the rest will be given dates during the season. Last year's contest had a turnout of around 75 people.
"Every great game needs a great start with the National Anthem," says Reed Hunley, Director of Entertainment, "We count on great talent to get us started."
During the tryouts, the Hagerstown Suns merchandise store will be open plus tickets will be sold. The stadium will be open during tryouts so fans can check out the field and stock up on Suns gears before the team takes the field on Opening Day on April 8th.
