ROUND ROCK - One big inning was enough to ruin the night for Round Rock (58-78) Sunday at the Dell Diamond, as the Express fell to Nashville (71-65), 7-3.

Matt Kata had one of his best nights of the season for Round Rock, collecting three hits and two RBI.

Reggie Abercrombie and Brian Bogusevic both had two hits in the loss.

The Express started the game off on the right foot, and for the second night in a row, Abercrombie was in the middle of a first-inning rally. Abercrombie singled up the middle to lead off the inning, then stole second base. J.R. Towles grounded out, moving Abercrombie to third, and Bogusevic brought him home with a single to right field. Chris Johnson kept things going with a single to center field, and one out later, Kata singled to left-center field to bring home Bogusevic for a 2-0 lead.

The Sounds got the last laugh with a huge fourth inning against Express starter Josh Muecke, though. Corey Patterson led off the inning by reaching on an error by Yordany Ramirez, J.J. Hardy scored Ramirez with a single to left field, and Edwin Almonte doubled to left field to put runners at second and third with nobody out. Adam Heether doubled to left field to bring both runners home, and then moved to third on a Tike Redman single. A Hernan Iribarren sacrifice fly to center field scored Heether, and Patrick Arlis singled through the hole at shortstop to move Redman to second. Pitcher Chris Cody moved the runners over on a sacrifice bunt, and Adam Stern brought them home with a double to left field to make it 6-2, Nashville.

A single by Iribarren in the fifth inning brought home Heether for another run.

Round Rock's final run of the night came when Kata singled up the middle, bringing home Mark Saccomanno, who reached on a double.

Cody allowed two runs on six hits with three strikeouts for Nashville, earning his eighth win of the season.

Muecke allowed four earned runs (seven total runs) on nine hits over five innings, earning his 10th loss of the season.

Round Rock travels to Albuquerque for a 7:35 p.m. game Monday night with starters to be announced for both teams.
