Mr. 500: Renato Nunez's two-hit game yesterday gave him his 500th career hit of his young career. Nunez recorded his 500th career hit in style as his RBI double in the sixth plated Jake Smolinski to bring the Sounds within one run of tying the Zephyrs.

The Jupiter Connection: Both of tonight's starters played for Miami's Advanced-A affiliate, the Jupiter Hammerheads, in the 2015 season. However they were never on the team at the same time. Alvarez made three rehab starts with the Hammerheads from May 12 through July 20. As for Flores, he made two rehab starts for the Hammerheads on September 4 and 6.
