Nashville SC News Release

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Nashville Soccer Club (4W-3L-3D, 15 pts.) will host Chicago Fire FC (2W-2L-5D, 11 pts.) at 7:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at GEODIS Park, presented by Cat Financial, in the first of two meetings this season. Limited tickets are available at www.NashvilleSC.com/Tickets.

Fans not in attendance can catch the action on the MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV App and on radio on 104.5 The Zone.

At the conclusion of the match on Saturday, fans are encouraged to stick around to cheer on the Nashville SC Special Olympics Unified Team as they take on Chicago Fire's side. The Nashville SC Special Olympics Unified Team will also be the club's guests in Section 615, a special section in GEODIS Park dedicated to community members in the Middle Tennessee region.

Saturday will mark Chicago's first-ever visit to GEODIS Park, fourth overall, as the two sides did not meet last season due to Nashville SC being a member of the Western Conference. Nashville SC has never lost to the Fire, owning a 1W-0L-2D record and a positive 6-2 goal-differential.

In Chicago's last visit to Music City on July 17, 2021, Hany Mukhtar recorded the fastest hat-trick in MLS history in the span of six minutes (10', 13', 16') in a 5-1 victory.

Come Saturday, Head Coach Gary Smith will be on the precipice of setting a personal record for wins recorded at an MLS club. Currently at 43 wins, Smith recorded the same number of victories at Colorado Rapids back in 2009-11.

Meanwhile, Goalkeeper Joe Willis would be the first Nashville SC player in club history to reach 100 MLS regular season appearances if he features on Saturday. Willis has started in all, but two 101 regular season matches in the club's history.

Smith addressed the media today, where he discussed the excellent performance from his offense last weekend and the thrill of having the full complement of players available for his choosing this weekend.

Forward Teal Bunbury, who scored his first goal of the season last weekend and the match-winner, also talked to the media about how energized the team feels and the attention Nashville must pay to Chicago.

Off the pitch, fans will have the opportunity to enjoy all the musical entertainment taking place inside and in the surroundings of GEODIS Park.

Prior to the match, Nashville SC will also recognize Senior Master Sergeant Trandin Watkins of the United States Air Force as part of the Hyundai Military Salute.

Carrying the GEODIS Community Flag on Saturday will be guests from Fifty Forward which is the leading resource for adults 50+ in Middle Tennessee who seek to live longer, more fulfilling lives. The Hero of the Match will be Janet Jernigan, who as the former executive director of Fifty Forward, led the expansion of centers and supportive care services across the area.
