NASHVILLE- The Nashville Kats have traded WR Jason Shelley to the Columbus Destroyers for former Kats OL/DL Wes Stephens announced Kats Head Coach/Dir. of Football Operations Pat Sperduto.

Shelley (6-2, 192 Central State) signed with the Kats before the start of the 2007 season in October after spending five successful seasons with the Dallas Desperados where he totaled 286 receptions for 3,524 receiving yards and 66 touchdowns. Shelley played in four games (four starts) with the Kats in 2007 and recorded 18 catches for 206 yards and one touchdown before being placed on Nashville's injured reserve list.

Stephens (6-4 265 Mid. Tenn. St) returns to the Kats after spending the 2005 season with the club. While with the Kats, Stephens recorded 3.5 tackles and one pass breakup in limited action, playing in five games. Stephens was a member of the San Jose SaberCats in 2006 before signing with the Columbus Destroyers before the 2007 season... not seeing any action with the Destroyers in 2007.

The Kats' next contest will be against the Grand Rapids Rampage, Saturday, May 5. Nashville competes in the AFL's Central Division, a talent-rich division that houses the past two ArenaBowl Champions (Chicago Rush 2006, Colorado Crush 2005) and added the Kansas City Brigade in a realignment change.
