Tampa Bay Storm News Release

TAMPA BAY - The five-time world champion Tampa Bay Storm have acquired defensive lineman Willie Blade, signed offensive lineman Jeremy Darveau and placed linebacker Nyle Wiren on injured reserve, Head Coach and General Manager Tim Marcum announced today. The team also waived fullback Clenton Crossley.

Blade, a 6-foot-3, 315-pound lineman, out of Mississippi State made his Arena Football debut against the Columbus Destroyers. He saw action at nose guard. The former third round draft pick in the 2001 National Football League draft spent time with Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Giants.

Darveau, 6-7, 320, is a rookie out of the University of Louisville. Undrafted out of Louisville, Darveau spent time with the Amsterdam Admirals in NFL Europe prior to joining the Storm. Darveau adds needed depth and a nasty streak to the offensive line.

Wiren, 6-2, 240, out of Kansas State injured his elbow against the Orlando Predators. He will miss at least three weeks.

The 2007 Storm season, presented by Champs Sports, Where Sports Lives, returns to the St. Pete Times Forum Friday, May 18 at 7:30 p.m. as the Tampa Bay Storm take on the Arizona Rattlers. For Storm ticket information call 813.301.6780 or visit www.tampabaystorm.com.
