Nash named AFL Offensive Player of the Week

Las Vegas, NV, March 15, 2005 – Las Vegas Gladiators' offensive specialist Marcus Nash was named the Arena Football League's Offensive Player of the Week today for his efforts in leading the Gladiators to a 63-34 win over the Columbus Destroyers on Saturday in Columbus.

A two-year veteran of the Arena Football League, Nash (6'4" 220, Tennessee) caught 10 passes for 133 yards with five touchdowns. He also ran for a touchdown and scored on a two-point conversion. With the return of quarterback Clint Dolezel, Nash hit the 100-yards receiving mark for the first time since week three vs. New York.

On the season, Nash has caught 53 passes for 727 yards with 12 touchdowns.

This is the second time in Nash's career he has been named Offensive Player of the Week. Last season, in week six against the Rattlers, Nash set Gladiator records for receptions and receiving yards in a game, hauling in 16 passes for 192 yards and four scores.

The Gladiators hit the road in week eight as they travel to Arizona to take on Western Division rival Arizona Rattlers on Saturday, March 19. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. PT and the can be heard on ESPN Radio 920 with Andrew Siciliano and Mike Pritchard calling the game.
