
NAPHL Stand Out to Join Jr. Blues

The San Jose Jr. Sharks, members of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL), have announced that 18U forwardMatt Woodleyhas signed an NAHL tender with the Springfield Jr. Blues. The Jr. Blues compete in the NAHL's North Division.
Woodley, 18, just completed his first season with the Sharks 18U team in the NAPHL. During the regular season, Woodley (6'1/193) was third in team scoring with 23 points (11 goals, 12 assists) in 21 NAPHL games. He also recorded 10 points in the playoffs during theNAPHL Championship Series, in which the Sharks won the Silver (Consolation) bracket.
During the 2011-12 season, Woodley played for the Sharks 16U team, which was then coached by current Jr. Blues head coach Tony Zasowski. Woodley had a great season and was named to the All-NAPHL 16U 2ndTeam.
He was also honored as a Pointstreak Peak Performer during that season in September of 2011 for his performance at the 2011 NAHL Showcase.
Woodley is the first player off of this year's San Jose 18U team to sign an NAHL tender.
