STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder (@StocktonThunder), proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League, announced today that Thunder head coach and Director of Hockey Operations Rich Kromm has named Dennis Brogna head athletic trainer and Corby Antropik as new equipment manager.

"We're fortunate to add individuals like Dennis and Corby to our training and hockey staff," Kromm said. "Their experience and approach to day-to-day duties are extremely valuable to the Thunder organization. Dennis' terrific knowledge of keeping players healthy is an upside and we're expecting a seamless transition with Corby's skill set at the ECHL level."

Brogna comes to the Thunder after spending the 2011-12 season with the Louisiana IceGators of the Southern Professional Hockey League. His resume contains 26 years of experience in professional sports, including two at the NHL level with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

From 2003-2007 Brogna worked with the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL, where he served as a trainer for two Steelheads teams that won the Kelly Cup championship.

Brogna earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from the University of Arizona and is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association.

"Stockton has a very good reputation as a first class operation and that extends to their facilities," Brogna said. "Combining the travel, camaraderie and day-to-day operations, working with professional hockey players is something I love. I have heard plenty of great things on Stockton and the surrounding areas. It makes me excited to get started."

Antropik comes to Stockton after serving the San Francisco Bulls of the ECHL as their head equipment manager last season, helping in start-up operations in their inaugural campaign at the Cow Palace.

The native of Fort Worth, Texas, has also assisted the San Jose Sharks in their last two rookie development camps and will help them again this season during their training camp.

Antropik is a member of the Society of Professional Hockey Equipment Managers and has served in numerous equipment functions within the ECHL, Central Hockey League and Western Professional Hockey League, totaling nine seasons.

"I'm looking forward to working with Coach Kromm and Dennis Brogna this season as well as the players," Antropik said. "I'm glad to be a part of a great organization."
