August 10, 2016 - ECHL (ECHL)
Wheeling Nailers News Release

WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, are less than 70 days away from opening the 25th season of professional hockey in Wheeling, West Virginia. To celebrate the occasion, the Nailers are introducing the All-25th Season Team.

During the 24 seasons that hockey has been played at WesBanco Arena (formerly known as the Wheeling Civic Center), 719 players have worn a Wheeling Nailers or Wheeling Thunderbirds uniform, and 15 head coaches have guided those individuals behind the bench. As the organization enters year number 25, it's time for the fans to decide which players and coaches are the best in team history.

For the next four weeks, the Nailers will invite you to vote for who you think belongs on the All-25th Season Team. Each week will feature a different category, starting with coaches, followed by goaltenders, then defensemen, and finally forwards. Each grouping has been narrowed down in advance, to make the voting process easier. Voting will begin on Monday and end on Sunday, and will be done exclusively online, through a link provided at the start of each week.

The All-25th Season Team will be made up of 25 individuals, with the representatives from each category being announced during the final two weeks, leading up to Opening Night on October 15th.

All-25th Team Voting Schedule

Coaches: August 15th-21st

Goaltenders: August 22nd-28th

Defensemen: August 29th-September 4th

Forwards: September 5th-11th

The Nailers will open the 25th season of professional hockey in Wheeling on October 15th, when they host the Brampton Beast at 7:05.
