
Muth, Rall Earn Weekly NEL Nods

North Shore outfielder Eddie Muth and Bangor left-hander Tim Rall won the Daktronics Northeast League Players of the Week on Monday for the period ending Sunday, July 6.
Muth, 25, had four multiple-RBI games in a row during the week. He went 9-for-26 (.346) with six runs, three doubles, no triples, three homers, 10 RBIs, a .346 batting average, an .808 slugging percentage, a .433 on-base percentage and one stolen base.
Muth is a former seventh-round draft choice by Colorado in 2000 out of Stanford University. He hit .245 in 833 at bats over three seasons for Single-A Asheville (N.C.) and Single-A Salem (Va.). He belted 18 home runs in 398 at bats for Asheville in 2001.

Rall, 23, pitched two seven-inning shutouts in the back end of doubleheaders during the week. He threw a three-hitter in Brockton on July 1 and another three-hitter versus Allentown on July 6, lowering his ERA to 1.00 for the season.
Rall is a first-year rookie out of St. Andrews Presbyterian College in North Carolina. He resides in Lynbrook, N.Y.
