
Musketeers lose to Stampede

Rookie forward Eeli Tolvanen scored a pair of goals , including his first USHL, in a 5-3 loss to the Sioux Falls Stampeded tonight at Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
The Stampede scored first when Jack Becker (Lawton Courtnall, Jack Suter) scored at 6:44 of the opening period. Parker Tuomie (Ryan Brushett, Aaron Miller) made it 2-0 Stampede 7:42 into the first before Eeli Tolvanen (Jake Ryczek, Teemu Pulkkinen) scored his first USHL goal to cut the Sioux Falls lead to 2-1 on the power play at 13:21. Collin Peters (Jack Becker, Alex Stevens) gave Sioux Falls a 2 goal lead on the power play at 19:20 to round out first period scoring.
Tolvanen (Connor Valesano) picked up his second goal of the game 3:42 into the second period. Jake Durflinger (Christian Meike) tied the game at 3-3 on the power play at 10:50 of the third period, but Sioux Falls would answer just over two minutes later when Tuomie ( Collin Peters, Joe Rutkowski) put in his second of the night at 13:19 to make it 4-3 Stampede. Aaron Miller (Peters) sealed the win with an empty net goal with 45 seconds left in the game, giving Scott Owens his first win as the Head Coach for Sioux Falls.
