Musketeers Forward AJ Hodges Named USHL Forward of the Week

SIOUX CITY, Ia. - Forward AJ Hodges has been named this week's USHL Forward of the Week having a total of 3 goals and 3 assists between the two nights.

Friday night the Musketeers took on the Dubuque Fighting Saints and were playing from behind when AJ got his first assist in the game at the 14:58 mark of the 1st period to make it only a 1 goal game. He then tied the game 2-2 just before the buzzer at the end of the 1st period at the 19:36 mark. Going into the 3rd period trailing by a goal AJ used his skills and received his second assist of the evening at the 5:49 mark to re-tie the game 3-3.

Saturday, he continued his efforts over from the first game of the weekend and got the team on board first with a goal at the 13:26 mark of the 1st period. At the 18:33 mark of the 2nd period AJ scored goal #2 on the night putting the Musketeers up 3-2 and adding an assist to his column at the 12:35 mark of the 3rd period to boost the team to a 4-3 win over the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. Head Coach Luke Strand states "AJ has come in and contributed on both sides of the puck. His 200' play is giving him the success he deserves."

The Musketeers return home this weekend for a double header against the Waterloo Black Hawks. Friday, March 6th the 1st 1,500 fans will receive the 1st set of 8 players trading cards from the 2019-20 season. Saturday, March 7th is Red Cross Night & Pucks and Paws night sponsored by the Siouxland Humane Society.
