Murfreesboro Musicians News Release
The Murfreesboro Musicians are preparing to take on the Defending WBA Champions, Rome Gladiators twice at the end of this week on Thursday evening in Rome, GA and back in Murfreesboro on Saturday night at the Musicians Arena at Oakland High School. Tip off for Saturday's game will be at 7pm.
"It's a tough task to take on the Defending Champs right out of the gate, and especially with a young team!" states Musicians Head Coach, Steve Tucker. "We've had a great training camp and feel good about our team, but hey, you are who you are, and we're pretty young. I believe we can have an excellent team as the 2006 WBA season goes along, but we've still got a ways to go. Obviously, we made great progress and took a big step forward with the way we played at home against Cleveland this past Saturday night, but Rome is a different animal. Coach Harold Ellis does an excellent job with his Gladiators and he'll have them primed for us both this coming Thursday evening down there in Georgia and then back here on Saturday night. It is always good to play the best though and we look forward to the competition and challenge!"
Murfreesboro has opened up the season with a 1-1 record after splitting two games vs the Cleveland Majic this past weekend. The Rome Gladiators will come into the two game series vs the Musicians with a 1-0 mark after defeating Griffin, GA 99-89 at home this past Saturday night.
