Gunn is averaging 27.8 ppg, 4.4 apg, and 3.5 steals thus far this season, and has proven to be the most explosive player in the WBA thus far during this 2006 WBA season. McGinnis has been the horse inside for the Musicians averaging 26.3 ppg and 13.1 rpg. Pippin who joined the Musicians two weeks ago has already made his presence felt with a 22.5 ppg average and is averaging 9.1 rpg.
No concreate commitments have been made to any of the three in regards to Summer League Teams, but teams have shown interest in the Musicians Trio. Hopefully commitments will be made as the three continue their banner play throughout the remainder of the WBA Season. As well, their has been no commitments made to any Musicians players regarding being a part of the NBA D League Player Pool, but their are hopes that several present Musicians Players will be included in the D League Player Pool this fall. Dexter Hall, a 6'9 Musicians frontline player has been a player that may lead the way in regards to being a part of the NBA D League Player Pool for the 2006-07 Basketball Season.
"We obviously have three players that should be looked at by NBA Teams for the way they are playing during this WBA season, and we have some young developing players that will obviously have opportunities to play on the Pro Basketball Level this fall and winter here in the USA or abroad. We are very proud of the players within our organization and we want to help each of them further their professional basketball playing careers." states Musicians Head Coach Steve Tucker.
MUSICIANS NOTES:
* Tommy Gunn threw down a 360 degree slam dunk in the Musicians win vs Anderson on Friday night. It occurred in the third quarter after Gunn stole a pass and blew up court to amaze the home crowd with this amazing slam dunk. The dunk spawned a 16-2 run that broke the game open for the Musicians! The Musicians went on to defeat the Anderson Heat 110-97. The Musicians have now won 2 straight games and are looking to get on a roll as they work to challenge for the WBA Championship in late June in the WBA Playoffs.
