Murfreesboro Musicians News Release

The WBA Expansion Professional Basketball Franchise, Murfreesboro Musicians will open their first Training Camp in preparation for the upcoming WBA season this Friday in Murfreesboro.

The Musicians will be led into Training Camp by longtime professional head coach, Steve Tucker. This is Coach Tucker's fifth time to start a professional basketball franchise from the ground up, and he sees this as a very promising team and franchise. "We have assembled a very good nucleus of players and we have been well received by the City of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County! This is just an exciting time for everyone associated with our pro basketball franchise and for all those who just love the game of basketball in this area. It is going to be a lot of fun and I'm just happy that I'm a part of it all!"

The Musicians have a number of former Middle Tennessee State University Blue Raiders on their roster led by former All-Sun Belt Conference Guard, Tommy Gunn. Mike Dean, Fats Cuyler, and Marcus Morrison join Gunn on the Musicians Training Camp Roster. The Musicians are as well still in negotiations with former MTSU Blue Raiders Power Forward, Steve Thomas, who is presently in Europe finishing up his season there. Thomas was a First Team All-WBA Player last season.

Coach Steve Tucker will be assisted by former NBA Assistant Coach and University of Tennessee Assistant Coach, Gerald Oliver. Rounding out the Musicians' Coaching Staff will be coaches Mike Holloway and Keith Dean.

The Musicians will tip-off its season on April 13th at Lavergne High School when it host the Arkansas Arch Angels in an Invitational Game. Tip-off will be at 7:30pm. The Musicians will tip-off their WBA League Home Schedule on April 22nd at Oakland High School in Murfreesboro.
