Canadian music will take centre stage next month on what will be the liveliest street in the country for three amazing days - and it's all free for music and football fans alike.

More than 40 artists from the true north will deliver free-to-attend concerts at Fan Central on James Street November 16-19 as part of the Built in the Hammer Grey Cup Music Festival.

Everything gets underway on James St. on Thursday, November 16, at 11 a.m. with the SiriusXM Grey Cup Festival Kickoff Party headlined by Hamilton's very own, Juno Award-winning rock band The Dirty Nil. The kickoff party also features Montreal new-age punk band NOBRO and performances from Steve Strongman, Hachey the MouthPEACE, The Hot Karls and Matty Simpson Band.

The free-to-attend entertainment continues throughout the weekend with confirmed acts including: The Redhill Valleys, Nicolette & the Nobodies, The 99s, The Handsome Devils, Regina Pep Band, Matt Paxton & the Pintos, Born in the Eighties, Generator Party, Deseronto, High Steppin' Daddy and Ben Somer & the Cold Winter. Friday and Saturday's performances begin at 11 a.m. and run until 8 p.m. nightly.

It was announced today as the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the 2023 Grey Cup Festival continue to unveil their bold plan to dovetail the country's annual celebration of Canadian football with a full-blown music festival that showcases Hamilton's exploding arts scene.

"We're thrilled to announce this stellar line-up of Canadian artists." said Tim Potocic, Co-Owner and President, Sonic Unyon Records. "The 2023 Grey Cup Festival will be an outstanding celebration of Hamilton, Football and Music."

Fan Central on James St. will also feature additional activities for the whole family, including a collection of food trucks, the Hamilton Christmas Market, photo opportunities, art installations and other live activations. The area will also be home to the Canadian Armed Forces Fan Zone, the Hamilton Flag Football Classic and the TELUS Kick for Good Courtyard.

This is the latest in a series of major announcements from the Ticats and the Grey Cup Festival. Carrie Underwood was previously announced as the headline act at FirstOntario Centre on Friday, November 17. Tickets can be purchased here.

More news will roll out soon as the city and region gear up to host Canada's biggest and best party including of course the 110th Grey Cup game, the Championship of the Canadian Football League, at Tim Hortons Field on Sunday, November 19th, where global punk-rock superstars, Green Day, will headline the Twisted Tea Grey Cup Halftime Show.
