Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release
BOSSIER CITY, LA - Tonight at the CenturyTel Center, the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs and Rocky Mountain Rage will face-off in Game 3 of their Northern Conference Opening Round playoff series at a special 6:05 pm start time. The winner of tonight's game will advance to the second round of the playoffs, while the loser will be eliminated from the postseason.
The series is tied at one game apiece coming after the Mudbugs' thrilling Game 2 victory last night in Bossier City. The 'Bugs held a 2-1 lead late in the second period before Rocky Mountain tied the game and then scored two quick goals in the third to seize control of the game with a 4-2 lead before the Mudbugs started their comeback. Mark Johnson scored mid-way through the period and then Travis Clayton's second goal of the game tied it at four with just 2:47 remaining. Dave Pszenyczny was the hero in overtime, netting the game-winner just over halfway through the period to give the 'Bugs a 5-4 victory and force tonight's deciding Game 3.
Bossier-Shreveport played well in Game 1 on Monday night but fell behind 0-1 in the series after a 4-3 loss at the Broomfield Events Center. The Mudbugs have outshot Rocky Mountain 96-47 in the first two games of the series coming into tonight.
