Arizona Sundogs News Release

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs of the Central Hockey League announced Thursday that NHL parent club the Phoenix Coyotes has recalled goaltender Joel Gistedt to the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League. It is the fifth time this season Gistedt has been recalled to the Coyotes' AHL affiliate.

Gistedt, in his first professional season in North America, posted a 10-15-1 record with a 4.15 goals against average (GAA) and a .873 save percentage (SV%) in 29 games with Arizona this season. After collecting just four wins in his first 15 starts, the 20-year-old netminder went on to post a 6-4-1 record in his final 11 appearances.

The native of Uddevalla, Sweden also appeared in one game with the Rampage on November 8, 2008 against Quad City stopping seven of nine shots on goal in the third period in relief of starting netminder Josh Tordjman.

Gistedt was selected in the second round (36th overall) by the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
