Mudbugs To Face Rapid City In Conference Finals

BOSSIER CITY, LA - The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs will continue their run through the 2010 CHL Ray Miron President's Cup Playoffs against the Rapid City Rush in the Northern Conference Finals. The Central Hockey League announced the schedule for the best-of-seven series after Rapid City advanced to round three last night.
Starting next Saturday, the Mudbugs and Rush are set to meet in the playoffs for the first time after both teams completed four-game sweeps in the semifinal round. The 'Bugs defeated the three-time defending Northern Conference Champion Colorado Eagles in four games, while the Rush knocked off the expansion Missouri Mavericks 7-6 in overtime in last night's Game 4 to advance.
The series marks Bossier-Shreveport's eighth trip to the Conference Finals in their 13 seasons and first since 2006. As the #3 seed in the North, the 'Bugs will head to Rapid City to start the series against the top-seeded Rush, who are making their first-ever playoff appearance in just their second year of existence.
The series begins one week from today with Game 1 at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center, while Game 2 will follow on Sunday. The teams will then travel to Bossier City as the series continues in a two-three-two format with Games 3, 4 and 5 (if necessary) being played at the CenturyTel Center.
