Mudbugs Rivalry Weekend to Benefit Local Charities

BOSSIER CITY, LA - Although there won't be much holiday cheer on the ice this weekend, there will be plenty of it in the building as the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs host two of their biggest rivals this Friday and Saturday at the CenturyTel Center! A number of local charities will benefit from this weekend's games against Mississippi and Texas, so join us for a fun weekend of hockey and help out these worthy community cause s in the process!
Friday at 7:05 the Mudbugs will take on Mississippi for the fifth time this season after winning three of the first four head-to-head matchups against the RiverKings. For our December charity game, we're highlighting Med Camps of Louisiana for special needs children. One dollar from every ticket sold for Friday's game will go directly to Med Camps, who then provide free fun-filled summer camps for Louisiana children facing physical and mental disabilities.
Friday's game will also feature our 2010 coat drive benefitting the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission and The Salvation Army. Fans are encouraged to donate new or used coats at the game to help less fortunate members of our community stay warm this winter.
Saturday at 7:05 the Texas Brahmas will visit Bossier-Shreveport for the first time this season on "Christmas Night" presented by SB Magazine . The game will feature our annual "Teddy Bear Toss" to benefit the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program .
We're asking fans to bring new stuffed toys to the game to throw onto the ice after the Mudbugs score against the Brahmas. The toys will then be collected and donated to Toys for Tots, where they will be distributed to local children in need this holiday season.
In addition to stuffed toys for the teddy bear toss, fans are also welcome to bring additional types of new, unwrapped toys to the game to donate to the Toys for Tots.
