Gems Team up with Ponderosa to Offer Kids Club

Dayton, OH- The Dayton Gems in conjunction with the Ponderosa Steakhouse (located at 4918 Airway Road in Dayton) announced today that they have teamed up to offer young Gems fans a chance to become a member of the new Dayton Gems Kids Club now known as Blade's Buddies. The Blade's Buddies program will be offered to all kids in the eighth grade or younger only.

Becoming a member of the Blade's Buddies program has a number of exciting benefits available to its members. All members will receive an official Blade's Buddies Membership Card, an official Rewards Card (this allows members to have their card stamped after four games and receive a FREE ticket voucher to bring a friend to a game), a special free gift (this year it is a t-shirt), two FREE tickets to any Gems game, an invitation to the Blade's Buddies party with Blade and the Gems players, a birthday card from Blade and the team, and the opportunity to be chosen as "Blade's Gem of the Month" on the team website. Additional benefits include Chuck-A-Puck cleanup priority signup and a coupon from Ponderosa good for a free kids meal with the purchase of an adult meal. The cost of the membership is only $15.00 for brand new members and $13.00 for season ticket holders. Membership only runs from August 1st (2010) to July 31st (2011). "I used to go to the Gems games when they were in town years ago and I find that hockey is an enjoyable sport and offers great entertainment value for the whole family," said Janet Wise General Manager of the Ponderosa on Airway Road in Dayton. "The Gems are very much a part of Dayton and I sincerely hope the community will come out and support them just as we are by sponsoring the Blade's Buddies program this season."

The Gems return home to Hara Arena Thursday night (December 9th) to take on the Rapid City Rush at 7:00 p.m. Thursday's game will be another Thirsty Thursday, meaning there will be $1.00 Bud Light Drafts on sale throughout the arena at the concession stands (with proof of legal ID). The U.S. Marines will be there as well to collect Toys for Tots and Santa Clause will make an appearance for the kids. The Kettering Medical Center is proud to be the official title sponsor of the Gems for the 2010-11 season.
