Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release


BOSSIER CITY, LA -- The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs hosted the Wichita Thunder on Thursday night at the CenturyTel Center and were able to kick start the offfense in the first period. Forbes MacPherson dug the puck out of the corner to Dan Wildfong. Wildfong sent it to the other side of the net to a wide open Kyle Musselman who shot it passed Wichita goaltender Sebastien LaPlante.

The Mudbugs carried the 1-0 lead into the second period. It was Kyle Musselman who scored again, this time poking a rebound by LaPlante.

The Bugs kept the heat on in the third period, but this time the it came on the powerplay. Jason Basile's shot rebounded to Dan Wildfong alongside the net as he was able to bury it and put the Bugs on top by three goals. The Bugs would tack on one more when Chris Brassard cut towards the net and jammed a Dan Wildfong feed past LaPlante to score his ninth goal of the season. Ken Carroll picked up his second shutout of the season and is now one shutout short of tying the CHL career record. The Mudbugs are back in action on Saturday night against Memphis for a 7:05 P.M. game. The Christus Schumpert pre game show begins at 6:45 on KWKH 1130.
