Did you know...
Randy Murphy's best season in the WPHL/CHL came in the 1999/2000 season, where he scored 93 points and led the Scorpions to a record of 49-18-3 and the Western Division regular season title. He enjoyed a 17 game points streak that season, and twice recorded hat-tricks; one on December 29th in a 7-2 home win over Amarillo (part of a six point night) and one two nights later in a 5-3 home win over El Paso on New Year's Eve. During the season, he enjoyed 27 multiple point outings.
'Murph' and the Scorpions would advance all the way to the President's Cup Finals that season, falling to the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs in overtime of Game 6. Murphy finished second in playoff scoring with 23 points, trailing only teammate Todd Marcellus, who had 27.
